Pilgrimage to Paro Chumphug Nye

The Paro Chumphug Nye (sacred place) is a new pilgrimage package. It is located north-east of Paro valley. It was blessed and left as a sacred places with many hidden treasures by great Buddhist master, Guru Rinpoche. Later, the head abbot of Bhutan discovered this Nye and have built monastery. The statue of Dorjee Phagmo (Vajra Varahi) standing on air is the main statue and there are numerous sacred sites to explore around this sacred place.

After landing in Paro International Airport, we will transfer to Thimphu valley, the capital city of Bhutan. It awaits you with so many things that you anticipated.

Upon arrival in Thimphu, you will enjoy delicious Bhutanese lunch.After lunch, we will visit Memorial Chorten and will have some ‘Kora’. We will also visit Textile Museum, Folk Heritage Museum, painting school and Zilukha Nunnery. Dinner will be hosted with one Buddhist scholar, to have talks and chats about Buddhism.

Overnight: Hotel in Thimphu.

Day 2- Transfer from Thimphu to Paro valley

After having breakfast, drive to Sangaygang, from wheren you can view the whole capital town. Before reaching this viewpoint, we will visit Motithang mini-Zoo un which you will see the National animal of Bhutan, Takin (Budorcas taxicolor). From viewpoint, we can hike gently among the pine trees and will reach Wangditse Monastery.

We will lit some butter lamps and pray for world peace prosperity. while returning, we will hike from a different route which will lead us to Dechenphodrang Monastery, where Bhutanese young monks get trained for various subjects. Stop for lunch at main town and have a brief afternoon stroll in town. We will drive to Paro valley in the evening.

Day 3- Transfer from Thimphu to Paro valley

After breakfast, we will drive north-east of Paro town coming across farmland, farm houses and schools. We will reach to the start point. We will have some refreshment before we start our hike to the sacred monastery.

The trail goes through dense forest but will get to see various religious monuments on the way. Our representatives will be there with you to explain about those monuments on the way to the sacred place. We will carry our own packed lunch. The night’s campsite will be below Chumphug Monastery.

Day 4- Explore Paro Chumhug Nye

In the early morning, we will hike uphill to reach main sacred site. On the way, we will come across many holy and religious sites which will be explained individually by our representative.

After reaching at the main site, we will visit the main monastery and lit the butter lamps, get the blessing and pray for peace and prosperity for all sentient beings in this universe. You must not miss to see main statue of Dorji Pahgmo (Vajra Varahi), which is believed to be in the air. You can pass a sheet of paper beneath its feet very freely.

Thereafter, will hike little uphill to get view the holy pond (Drupchu) site and will come back for lunch. After lunch, we will hoist some prayer flags and spiritual leader of the monastery will consecrate our flags. We will start hiking downhill to the campsite. Upon reaching the camp site, there won’t be any program and we can rest and relax.
Overnight: Camp below Chumphug Monastery.

Day 5- Return journey to Paro Valley

After breakfast, we will start our return journey. At ending point, the representative will be waiting for your reception with some refreshment. We will serve our lunch in a local restaurant in Paro town.

In the afternoon, we will visit to National Museum, Paro Dzong and monastery in town. We will then drive to view point of mystical Tiger Nest, Taktshang monastery. We will get chance to visit Kyichu Lhakhang on the way.Overnight: Hotel in Paro.

Day 6- Paro – Paro International Airport

We will drive you to Paro International Airport and see you off for your onward destination flight.
